Methods to Submit Your Web site to Search Engines (Newbie's Information)

Recently one of our readers asked us how we should submit their WordPress site to search engines like Google.

Search engines are the biggest source of traffic for most websites. For this reason, it is important to make sure that they can easily find and rate your web pages.

In this article we are going to show you how to easily submit your website to search engines and get traffic to your website.

Since this is a comprehensive guide, the quick links below will take you straight to different sections in this article.

Do you need to submit your website to search engines?

No, you don't have to submit your website to search engines. Most search engine bots can find your website automatically if it has been mentioned on other websites.

However, for WordPress websites, we recommend submitting them manually as it will discover you faster.

Why should you submit your website to search engines?

If you're starting a new business or blog, search engines are the number one source of free website traffic. This means that you can grow your business online without spending a lot of money.

Unlike paid traffic from ads, organic search traffic is free and you don't have to pay search engines for it.

More importantly, the submission process is quite simple, free, and gives you access to various tools that you can use to grow your business later.

Let's take a look at how to submit your WordPress website to search engines.

Submit your website to Google

Google is the largest and most popular search engine in the world. For most websites, Google is often the largest source of traffic.

To submit your website to Google, you need to sign up for the Google Search Console. It's a free tool from Google that website owners can use to see how their website is doing in search results.

Signing up is free and easy. Just go to the Google Search Console website and click the "Get Started" button.

You can use your existing Google Account to sign in or create a new account.

Next, Google will ask you to enter your website's domain name. We recommend using the URL Prefix option here as it is easier to verify.

After selecting this option, use the HTML tag method to review your website and submit it to Google. All you need to do is click the HTML Tag option to expand it and then copy the code by hitting the "Copy" button.
