17 Best Survey Sites To Make Money Online
Let’s go ahead and get into our list of the 17 best survey sites to make extra money.
Below you’ll find a review of each online survey site, how it works, why it makes the list and how much you can make.
While you most likely won’t get rich with these sites, they’re a great way for earning some extra cash.
1. Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie is by far one of the best paid survey sites on the web.
By sticking to the higher-paying surveys with this site, you can make anywhere from $12 – $18 per hour.
However, if you take the lower-paying ones (and there’s a decent amount), you won’t make nearly this much. For that reason, we suggest avoiding those.
Survey Junkie has one of the strongest reputations on the web, and I don’t see them going away anytime soon.
They always tell you how much a survey is going to pay before you take it.
And if you don’t qualify for a survey, they’ll tell you within a couple of questions. This is unlike a lot of other sites that wait until you almost complete the survey only to tell you that you’re disqualified.
When you sign-up, you get a 25 point welcome bonus.
Earn points that can be exchanged for cash via PayPal money or a free gift cards to Target or Amazon.
Survey Junkie is by far the best way to make money taking surveys.
- Very high paying surveys
- Strong reputation
- Will always know how long a survey takes and how much it pays
- Great customer support
- Plenty of surveys to choose and they frequently update their site with new ones

Swagbucks is one of the best small task sites on the web.
Earn points in the site’s currency called Swagbucks and exchange them for lots of different prizes.
You receive points for taking surveys, watching videos, completing free-trail offers, searching the web, shopping online, clipping coupons, taking polls and more.
If you’re looking for an all-around site, Swagbucks is definitely the way to go.
On average I find that you can earn anywhere between $5 to $10 per hour just to fill out surveys online.
The one thing I love most about Swagbucks is their referral program.
For every friend you refer, you receive a 10% bonus of all of their earnings for life. Keep in mind that this doesn’t detract from their earnings.
It gets even better when you get a $10 welcome bonus just for signing up as a new user.
A minimum of $5 (500 Swagbucks) is needed to exchange your points for money via PayPal cash or free gift cards. Your welcome bonus doesn’t count toward this amount.
- One of the most popular rewards site on the web
- Plenty of other tasks to complete for extra income
- High paying surveys
- Excellent referral program
- Can also make money passively with videos

LifePoints (part of Global Test Market) is quickly becoming a top contender among paid surveys online.
Each new member that signs-up automatically gets a 10 point registration bonus.
The best part about this site is that there’s plenty of online surveys. It’s far and few between that you won’t have a survey available.
On average, they take around 10 minutes to complete and you’re automatically entered into sweepstakes drawing for any survey you’re denied.
LifePoints has one of the best referral earning services out there, giving you 20% of all of your friends’ earnings for life.

MobileXpression is a bit of an exception to this list since it’s actually a market research company, but it’s such a great app that we couldn’t pass it up.
Fill out surveys about your phone usage when you first use the app, then from there MobileXpression will pay you just for leaving the app installed on your phone.
Essentially, you’re earning a passive income with apps like MobileXpression.
MobileXpression pays you because they want to collect data about your phone usage: how long you spend on calls, what applications you have installed on your phone, the type of phone you have, etc.
They then take this data and sell it as market research. But don’t worry, as all of your data is kept anonymous so no one can trace it back to you.
The best part?
You get a free $5 gift card after leaving the app installed for 2-3 weeks. An incredibly easy way to earn extra cash.
- Free $5 once you are active for around 2 weeks
- Passive income
- Redeem points for both PayPal cash and egift cards
If you’re still confused on how this works, check out our MobileXpression review.
MySoapBox is quickly becoming a popular rewards site.
They have a great payout rate and even start you off with a $2 welcome bonus.
Each time you complete a survey you earn points that can be exchanged to a retailer of your choice such as Walmart, Amazon, iTunes and many others.
The minimum to cash out is $25 for free Amazon gift card and a lot of other retailers as well. While it may seem like a lot, you should be able to reach this amount quite quickly.
After your first time redeeming points, you can cash out with just a minimum of $1.
- Lots of gift cards to choose from
- $2 sign-up bonus
- Pays well with plenty of surveys available
Our MySoapBox review explains everything you need to know.
6. Vindale Research
- Registration Bonus: $1 after verifying your email address and completing your profile
- Join Vindale Research
Vindale Research is by far one of my favorite sites due to the fact that surveys can pay as much as $75 per survey.
However, these surveys are quite rare and I usually earn closer to $10 – $12/hour.
The best part about this site is that you can sometimes take the same survey multiple times in a day. You’ll almost never run out of options to
Furthermore, there are usually plenty of surveys to take and you can set up email notifications when new ones come out.
When you complete your profile you get a $1 sign-up bonus.
- Plenty of surveys
- $1 registration bonus when you verify your email address and complete your profile
- The payout on time once every month on the very last day

- Can make up to $75/hour, although this is quite rare

Although Rewardia awards you when you take online surveys or complete other tasks that you already do online.
This means you can also get paid online by playing games, referring friends and watching videos.
The great thing I like about Rewardia is that it’s more entertainment-based. A lot of their users report actually enjoying taking surveys and participating in other tasks.
The minimum to cash out is $5. Points can be exchanged for free gift cards.
All new users are given a 100 points registration bonus when they create a new account.
Earn even more money by referring friends. You get 10% of their points for life without taking away from their earnings.
- Other ways to earn
- Excellent referral program
- 100 point registration bonus
- Most users consider the tasks entertaining
8. Inbox Dollars
The great thing about Inbox Dollars is that right off the bat they give you a $5 registration bonus.
Although you can create some decent earnings with surveys alone, they also award you for competing other tasks.
Earn money watching videos, taking polls, playing games, shopping online and more.
They don’t pay as much as the others sites on the list, but I find this as a pro rather than a con. It forces me to take a break from surveys and watch videos or complete some other task for easy money.
If you stick to surveys alone, you can make about $5 to $10 per hour and roughly $.50 to $1 per survey.
To cash out you need a minimum balance of $30. Payment methods include cashing out for free PayPal money or egift cards.
- $5 registration bonus
- Can complete other tasks
- Awards to PayPal as well as gift cards
If you’re not sure on how Inbox Dollars works and want to know, we’ve put together this Inbox Dollars full review.

Prize Rebel has been getting a lot of praise lately due to their high payouts and ease of use.
If you complete the right tasks, you can easily earn at a rate of around $10 per hour.
The great thing about Prize Rebel is their referral bonus.
For every friend that you refer, you earn 20% of all of their earnings with a max of up to 30% for life.
The unfortunate side is that Prize Rebel is currently only available to US users.
Not only can you earn cash taking online surveys, but you also earn cash when you watch videos and complete offer walls.
This is definitely one survey company worth taking a look at to see if it’s worth it for you or not.
- Earn money from other tasks
- 20% to 30% referral bonus from all friends for life
- High-paying tasks compared to other sites
For those wanting to learn more, here’s our Prize Rebel review.
11. Panda Research
I recently just started using Panda Research, and I wish I had started sooner.
You get a $3 sign-up bonus, and there are many opportunities you can earn money with this website. Earn cash reading emails, taking a survey, clipping and using coupons, completing free trial offers and referring friends.
You’re automatically paid the 1st and the 15th of each month, so you never have to worry about requesting to cash out.
The only downside is that there’s a minimum cash-out balance of $50, but I usually find myself getting to this amount rather quickly.

- Get paid for completing other tasks
- Get paid to read emails, a very simple task
- $3 registration bonus when you complete the sign-up
- Automatically paid the 1st and 15th of each month to PayPal

Opinion Outpost is great when they come to being consistent on payouts.
Most of their surveys pay around the same amount and at a decent rate, so you don’t have to filter through the terrible surveys in order to make some decent cash.
When you sign-up for Opinion Outpost, you can expect to earn at a rate of about $10 per hour.
Although they don’t have a sign-up bonus, we recommend that this is one site at least everyone tries due to their strong reputation.
What I also love about Opinion Outpost is that they frequently have random prize draws of up to $10,000 for all of their members.
You don’t have to do anything to participate in their sweepstakes. As long as you’re a member, you’re already in.
Expect to earn about $1 to $3 per survey.
- Earn at a rate of $10 per hour
- Most surveys pay around the same amount
- The quick and easy sign-up process
Don’t miss our Opinion Outpost review if you need more details.
While it’s not number one on this list, PointClub is the best site you can use to get started if you’re new to taking online surveys.
The best part is that you’ll receive a $5 bonus (500 points) when you sign-up.
Furthermore, the minimum to cash out is only $25. This is much lower than many other sites.
PointClub has a bonus system. For every 5 consecutive days you log-in, you earn a 10% bonus on all of your earnings up to a maximum of 100%.
At the 100% bonus, you can easily earn around $14 to $15 perhour. However, forget to log-in for one day and your bonus will reset.
I personally use a calendar reminder that tells me to log-in once a day so that my bonus doesn’t reset.
You can cash out via PayPal and for gift card prizes.
You can earn anywhere between $.25 cents to $5 per survey.
- Great for beginners
- Sign-up bonus of $5
- Easily earn at a rate of roughly $15 per hour with their bonus system
- Only $25 minimum needed to cash out
We also put together a PointClub review to explain all you need to know.
15. Ipsos i-Say
Ipsos i-Say isn’t the greatest earner on this list, but there’s usually plenty of surveys available.
The great thing about Ipsos is that they reward you for activate participation. The more online surveys you take, the more you earn in their tiered bonus program.
Expect to make around $8 to $10 per hour with Ipsos and anywhere between $.25 and $2 per survey.
Why sign-up for Ipsos i-Say?
Because each time you take a survey you’re automatically entered into a drawing for prizes such as MP3 players, vacation packages, gaming consoles, gift cards and more.
They also have a tier system that solely rewards you based on the number of surveys you take.

16. Survey Club
The great thing about Survey Club is that they let you filter what type of survey you want to take.
Only have 5 minutes? You can filter your surveys available by selecting ones that only take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
You can also sort by reward, gender, and location.
While not all of the surveys on their site are high-paying, they do have some pretty good ones.
Sometimes you can find that some will payout at about $5 for only 10 minutes of your time. Of course, these ones are quite rare.
Overall, expect to make around a solid $8 to $10 per hour with this site and around $.50 to a few dollars per survey.
Just be sure to stick with the higher-paying surveys so that it’s worth your time. Keep in mind the survey rewards may be different depending on your demographics.

17. Pinecone Research
Pinecone Research works a little bit differently than other survey sites on this list.
Instead of logging-in and checking what surveys are available, Pinecone Research sends you a notification to your email address.
The best part about this site is that you know exactly how much you earn per survey.
Each one pays you a flat $3 per survey that takes around 15 minutes each. That adds up to $12 per hour – an incredible rate.
However, don’t expect to make this much money. That’s because Pinecone Research has a very limited amount of surveys.
Expect to receive around 3 to 4 per month if you’re lucky. But when you do get to fill out one, consider it lucky since it’s easy money.

What To Look For In Paid Survey Sites
With so many survey websites out there claiming that you can make thousands, it’s difficult to determine what’s scam or legit.
However, there are some key factors that you should look for:
Be Aware Of Scams
Any legitimate site will never ask for your credit card information.
When taking paid survey sites for money, they mostly only require your email address, your payment information and for you to create a password. If they ask for much else, consider walking away.
Also be aware if a site is claiming if you can make money online in the thousands of dollars. That’s usually not the case with these sites. If you’re looking to really make money, we suggest looking for other ways to get paid.
While not all of the legit online survey opportunities give you a bonus just for registering as a new user, it’s definitely a great incentive.
Sometimes they can be as high as $5. I sometimes sign-up just for the sign-up bonus and then cash out once I meet the payment threshold.
If I don’t like the site, I don’t continue.
Most paid survey companies require you to reach a minimum balance before you can cash out.
Be aware of this when you first sign-up.
I’ve seen some for as little as $5 and some as high as $50.
Yet keep in mind that those with a higher payout threshold usually pay much better.
Stick To High-Paying Survey Opportunities
I do my best to list surveys on this list that at least pay at a minimum rate of $10/hour.
Calculate how much you can earn by dividing how much you earn by how long it takes in hours ($5 survey / .5 hours = $10/hour).
Survey sites typically have low-paying surveys and high-paying ones.
If you see a survey that doesn’t pay well, move on to the next one or wait for a new one to come out.
How And When They Pay
This may be important depending on how quickly you need the cash.
I’ve seen survey sites payout only once a month, whereas with others you can request a payout at any time.
Furthermore, keep in mind what type of compensation they pay, whether it be gift cards or PayPal deposits.
All of the sites have at least paid me once.
Most of the time you don’t have to worry about this.
Survey sites typically keep all of your answers anonymous, so there’s no way to link your opinions back to you.
I made sure that all online survey sites on this list meet these criteria.
Don’t Forget To Verify Your Email Address
When you register with the majority of these sites, they’ll require you to verify your email address.
Tips For Maximizing Your Earnings With Online Survey Sites
Here’s a quick list of tips that you should keep in mind when trying to make money online with paid online surveys.
When you first start taking survey sites for money, it can be exciting to realize that you can easily earn some extra money online. However, I caution you to take it slow. Burnout is quite common since surveys can be quite tedious.
If you find yourself getting bored with one survey site, skip it for a while and try a new one and go back to it later. I personally make sure to take a day off from paid online surveys all-together.
There was one point in which I was doing hours of survey-taking a day, and I ended up stopping for 2 months, greatly decreasing my extra income.
Don’t Stick With One Site
As much as I hate to admit this, you can’t just pick one of these survey sites. This is because there just aren’t enough surveys to go around that are high-paying.
I’ve mentioned this multiple times above, but don’t waste your time with low-paying surveys. If you’re not earning at a rate of around $10 per hour, take a break from that site and go to a new one.
You’ll typically find the most amount of high-paying surveys to be available when you first register.
Once those are exhausted, go to a new site and come back to your previous one. More often then not, you’ll find new surveys with a decent payout rate.
Refer Your Friends
Most of the surveys on this list of the best survey sites have a referral program.
All it takes is a quick post to your Facebook or Twitter account to shout out your referral link to all of your friends.
Sometimes Sign-up Bonuses Are All You Need
I sometimes sign-up for a survey panel only to find out that I hate it. However, with a $5 registration bonus, it’s difficult to complain.
If this is the case, what I usually do is make enough to reach the minimum cash-out threshold and never come back to the site again. Sometimes this is worth it if the sign-up bonus is high enough.
Watch Your Time
The amount of time you spend on a particular survey panel really depends on the site itself. Keep track of how many hours you’re working so you know the exact amount you’re getting paid per hour.
Also remember that when taking surveys for money, the amount of time it takes to complete a survey depends on your answers and demographics.
This means that the amount of money you make and the time it takes to complete surveys may vary from person to person.
Find out which survey website works best for you and is worth your time.
As for me personally, the perfect time to start taking surveys is when I’m waiting in line or for a friend. That way it doesn’t feel like I’m using up any of my spare time.
By keeping track of your time, this can be a decent way to make extra money online – for free!
Which Online Survey Sites Pay The Most?
If you’re simply looking for a survey site that pays the most money, we recommend using either Survey Junkie or Swagbucks.
You can expect to earn anywhere between $5 to $15 per hour depending on your demographic information since the surveys change based on the profile information you enter when you sign up.
Are There Any Online Surveys That Actually Pay?
Getting paid from taking surveys is a great way make money online.
It just takes a little bit of effort to find the right one that works for you.
Making money from survey sites is just one of the ways to get paid online or to get one step closer to reaching your personal finance goals.
Furthermore, you can make a decent amount of money fast. Just don’t expect it to replace your full-time job.
If you’re looking to get paid in extra cash or gift cards, survey sites are great for when you have a few minutes of spare time.
Do you have any other sites you’d like to add to our list of the best survey sites for 2020 or other sites to make money online?
